A Little Bit of Avery

Today, Avery, Remi, and I went for a drive and decided to go and pick up Dad for lunch. On our way there this was the conversation that takes place: Avery- Mom, I love you. Mom- I love you too. Can we be best friends forever? Avery- Yes. But you have to ask Jesus. Mom- (laughing) Ok. Why do I need to ask Jesus? Avery- Because we are also best friends. That melted my heart. I loved that phrase leaving her lips!

Who Peed In The Pool!?

Last Saturday afternoon, my sister, Amber, came over to work on her quiet book (Harry Potter) and then I got a phone call from my brother, Derek, to see if he and the kids could come over for a while, because his wife, Jen, was throwing her sister a baby shower at their house. I said sure. So the kids were all up stairs playing. Remi came down the stairs and her bottom was wet. I didn't think her diaper leaked through, but it did smell of pee. Then Braelyn came down and her knees were wet. Derek said she likes to play in the toilet. Then Houston and Avery came down. I thought maybe they filled up the Barbie pool with water. So I went upstairs to see what the mess was. I noticed the pool was full so I took it to the bathroom and started to pour it in the sink. To my surprise the water rushing down the drain was not clear but yellow. YELLOW!! Oh my heck, someone peed in the Barbie pool. Who would do that? I knew not my kids. So I went down and told everyone that someone peed in the Barbie pool and I wanted to know who. I thought it was Houston, my nephew. Derek said he knows better than that. I said well so does Avery. Then I looked at Avery and could tell she was showing a smirkish grin on her face. I asked if she did it, and she laughed and so YES! What!! It was my kid that peed in the pool! I asked her why she didn't go in the bathroom and visit the toilet and she simply said, "I don't know." Well, needless to say, that Avery peed in the pool and all the little kids played in it. Thanks for that Avery.

General Conference at our House

This year for Conference I wanted to make it special and start traditions in our home. The girls were so excited about the "Basket" and they weren't allowed to touch anything in it until Conference started. I wanted to make Conference fun. How to do that with a 2 year old and a 4 year old (remind you that they are girls) was beyond me. So to my lovely pinterest I went. I took a few ideas and combined them into one. I call it the "Basket" and it was full of treats, coloring books, Conference Bingo (that we never played due to children who do not have a long attention span) quiet books, church books, magnet boards, stickers, and last but not least, our CRAZY SOCKS!! Each Conference will we have our "Basket" and its going to be the best. Also next time I am adding for us to put together our 72 hour kits- YEAH!

Easter 2013

Saturday, March 30, 2013 I decided to do an Easter Egg Hunt with the Beckstrand cousins this year. I am so glad I did!! What a fun time we had. I was so happy to have all the cousins here all at the same time. And to my surprise, Josh V. came. I thought he was working but he had finished up. And Josh B. brought his kids and we had so much fun. We did miss Annette, and the Grandparents!! Everyone brought food for a yummy BBQ (and Eric did grill some crazy good burgers and hot dogs). Jen, Amber, and I set up the eggs in the backyard and let the kids loose! We did have to give the younger kids a head start. They had to find bubbles, a capri sun drink, two eggs mark with an X that contained money, a ball, and a bunny or carrot egg that contained a number for a prize! They had so much fun. I love throwing parties!! My mom said I was a mini JoAnn. I love that. Even though I don't remember my Grandma Condie, I am honored to even be a little bit like her. I have to say though, I think I am so much like my Mom. And I wouldn't have it any other way! Now, time to get the little kids ready for bed so the Easter Bunny can visit our home! ;)

America, The Beautiful

This year for the 4th of July we headed down south to Meadow to do the "small" town thing. Forgive me, but I LOVE it! And so do my girls!! We went to the parade in Fillmore and then headed home and watched movies and let the girls swim and made a really festive dinner!! Then we went back to Fillmore for the AMAZING firework show. I love being able to sit right under them and have the ash fall on you! Haha. We had a great time. Thanks Mom and Dad for the PARTY!!

Dump Fire 2012

On Thursday at around 11:30 am a fire was started by two men target shooting up Israel Canyon. This little spark from a gun changed everything for me. The spark started a HUGE wildfire in Eagle Mountain and quickly spread south to Saratoga Springs. I saw the fire coming home from helping my mom paint my sister-in-law's house. It didn't look too bad. The next morning, I woke up. Eric never called about the fire so I thought it was Ok. I decided to check it out for myself. I went outside and could not believe what I saw. I felt my heart sick and fear and panic swept over me. All I could see is BLACK smoke that was covering everything beyond a few houses behind mine. I called Eric crying and he asked me to send him some pictures. I did and he called back and said he was on his way home. I turned on the news and called my Dad crying and asked what I needed to do. He calmed me down and asked me to take pictures of everything and every room, even the landscaping. He told me to start packing things up that were most important. I did. Amber and Josh, my Mom, and my Aunt Carleen and her girls arrived to help. So grateful to them. We loaded things up and Carleen took the girls so I didn't have to worry about them. Soon after they left, we went outside and a police car drove by and told us to evacuate. This was the worst feeling in the world, being told to leave your home and not knowing when you could return. We all left. Eric and I went to eat lunch at Firehouse Subs (Ironic) and then went to sign papers to refinance our home. Then we went to Amber's apartment in Orem. And we spent the night there. Eric and I didn't sleep well. I was worried. In the morning, we spent time watching the news and then left by 9:30 am to head to the Condie Pool for a family swimming party. Then we headed back to Amber's. After the meeting that was held at 5:00 pm the evacuations were lifted and we could go back home. So relieved!! Eric and I rushed and packed up the car and the girls and headed home! Everything was like a ghost town. No life. We were happy to come back and see everything was Ok. No ash or smoke around. We unpacked everything and put everything back.We were still worried cause there was a fire still burning towards the top that we were keeping our eyes on. We woke up this morning (Sunday) and blue skies and no smoke!! Finally! It burned over 6,000 acres and evacuated over 1000 people and their homes. Crazy little spark... caused all that. Needless to say, I am getting PREPARED!!!!!!! 7

Fathers Day

Fathers Day this year was a lot of fun. I surprised Eric with a SuperDad party. We had decorations with red, blue, and yellow balloons and streamers. I also made Superman T-shirts for all of us. We had so much fun. Eric really enjoyed it. Avery and Remi were sick that day though. Fevers over 102!! Needless to say we had lots of naps and just relaxation which is what Dad wanted! We love you Eric and all you do for us!
